Children play and interact with other children, contributing to their development.
Parents socialize and discuss the challenges of being a parent. Playgroups also offer plenty of opportunities for parents to learn about ways to help their children develop skills they will need for a lifetime of success.
Playgroup facilitators create play spaces for young children and parents – providing an opportunity for children and parents to interact, explore and socialize. Information about the Family Center and other community resources is available at each playgroup.
Playgroups for everyone
Our Playgroups are available to all families with children birth to 5. We offer two weekly playgroups for families – Wednesdays, 10 to 11 a.m. at Aldrich Public Library in Barre; and Saturday Morning Playgroup at the Family Center in Montpelier from 10:00-11:30 a.m. through the school year. Playgroup for Dads and Kids is held Thursdays, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in our Early Childhood Building. Join with other dads, granddads, uncles and fathering caregivers from Central Vermont for play and connections. Dinner is also included! Check our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages. Join us as we continue to support families!
